My name is Dee and this is my first blog.
I am a full time wife, mother, engineer, and a part time photographer. I love dogs, golf, travel, and excelling at new challenges. My newest challenge is my photography from the technical, artistic, business, and relationship aspects. I find challenge and reward in each of these areas.
I have always been one to take pictures of family and trips, but I just purchased my first DSLR 4 years ago. My reasons were typical: My son started playing Little League, and my point and shoot was just not up to the task. I quickly found shots taken with the P&S disappointing when compared to the DSLR ones. So I got a bigger purse, and took my DSLR everywhere. For the first 2 years I was content to chase my kids around with my camera in P mode. I had graduated from AUTO after all with the help of the internet.
I travel quite a bit with my day job, and about 2 years ago, my camera started traveling with me. I focused on improving my skills by reading books, attending seminars, listening to podcasts, surfing the web for answers and inspiration, and just plain shooting a lot of pictures, and not just of the kids.
This year, I was ready to take the next step. I started up my photography business which will remain a part time endeavor. I like to call it a “serious” hobby.
Follow me on my journey in photography. I will share my projects, favorite photos, and thoughts about photography in general at least weekly by Monday morning, and maybe more when there is a lot to share.
