Why Add a Google 360 Virtual Tour to Your Business?

Businesses with virtual tours on Google receive significantly more clicks, calls, and direction requests than those without. A Google 360 tour appears directly in Google Maps and Search, giving potential customers an interactive look at your space before they ever contact you.

EXPOSURE – Your tour and professional photos appear across Google Maps, Google Search, and your Google Business Profile. Every person who searches for your business or finds you in local results can step inside immediately.

ENGAGEMENT – Visitors who explore your space virtually arrive better prepared and better qualified. They already know what to expect, which shortens the sales conversation and reduces no-shows.

TRANSPARENCY – Today’s customers expect to see your space online before committing. Showing your environment openly builds confidence in ways that stock photography never can.

LEGITIMACY – Professional imagery unique to your business gives your brand a local face and a real place. It signals that you are established, invested, and worth their time.

Houston’s Original Google Trusted Photographer

Dee Zunker Photography has been certified by Google as a Trusted Photographer since 2014 as one of the original ten Google Trusted Photographers in Houston. Google Trusted Photographers are vetted, trained, and authorized to shoot and publish Street View virtual tours directly to Google’s servers on behalf of businesses.

That certification matters because anyone can pick up a 360 camera and submit imagery to Google. Not everyone has been vetted by Google, trained to Google’s quality standards, or has the architectural photography background to know how lighting, panorama overlap, and shot sequencing affect how your business actually looks on Google Maps.

A Little History

When Google started the program over twelve years ago, photographers were selected for the program. We went through strict training and certification on the Google 360 creation process. Even after certification, every tour we created was reviewed and approved by Google before it was officially published in Google Maps. Google has since relaxed its vetting and publishing requirements, but the discipline remains part of my process today.

Equipment and Post Processing Matter

In 360 photography, camera quality and post-processing directly affect the final result. Entry-level one-click cameras can produce flat or overexposed images that reflect poorly on your business. Although 360 cameras have improved, they still do not match the quality of a professional interchangeable-lens camera fitted with a fisheye lens, followed by careful stitching and post-processing in specialized software.

Quality is a big deal at Dee Zunker Photography. Every Google tour shoot uses professional-grade 360 equipment combined with an architectural lighting techniques which is the same approach applied to my high-end commercial photography work. Your panoramas are hand-edited for color accuracy and exposure control, not batch-processed by automated software.

What’s Included with Every Google 360 Virtual Tour

  • High-resolution 360 panoramas published to Google Maps and Google Business Profile
  • Professional Google Business photos of your interior and exterior for use in marketing, social media, and your Google Business Profile
  • Optional staff headshots or product photos available as add-ons
  • Direct upload by a certified Google Trusted Photographer
  • Google hosts your tour permanently at no ongoing cost

Google Business Photos Beyond the Tour

Your Google Business Photos are not limited to the Google Business Profile. They can also support the rest of your marketing, including:

  • Website location and service pages
  • Social media and business updates
  • Email marketing and newsletters
  • Directories, listings and review platforms
  • Sales presentations, proposals and printed collateral
  • Recruiting and community outreach

The session can concentrate on the location itself or be expanded to include selected products, services, staff interactions or customer-facing details which help explain the business.

Walkthrough Video Options

Walkthrough video can be added to your Google package which are easier to share outside of your website and Google Business Profile. There are two options available:

Traditional Walkthrough Video. Separately captured video clips of the exterior, interior, atmosphere and customer-facing experience, edited for use on your website or social media.

360 Walkthrough Video. A short linear video created from the completed 360 imagery stepping through the 360 imagery in a video format. This is great for sharing your 360 tour on social media platforms.

These options serve different purposes. The interactive Google tour lets customers choose where to look, while video creates a guided presentation that can be shared outside of Google.

Industries Where 360 Tours are Popular

I have captured millions of square feet across diverse business locations in Greater Houston and others nationally. Businesses where Google 360 tours are helpful include:

  • Retail storefronts displaying showrooms, boutiques, and specialty shops where product selection and environment drive foot traffic.
  • Medical & Dental Practices showing reception and treatment areas so patients know what to expect before booking an appointment.
  • Restaurants and Hospitality are all about the vibe and atmosphere, so showing dining rooms, bars, hotels, and event spaces capture attention to bring prospective clients into the space.
  • Industrial & Manufacturing show scale and capability to customers, partners or investors.
  • Commercial Real Estate shows the features and available space to prospective tenants or investors to market office builds and retail spaces.
  • Senior Living & Multi-Family tours allow families and prospective residents to view common areas and amenities from the comfort of home.
  • Event Venues use tours to help planners visualize the layout and flow for their events.
  • Fitness and Wellness like gyms, yoga studios, salons, and spas show the features and facilities where the environment is a direct selling point.
  • Professional Services like law offices, financial advisors, and consulting firms where a professional, well-maintained space builds client confidence.
  • Houses of Worship and community spaces help new visitors get familiar with the space before they arrive for the first time.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is included in a Google Business Photos and 360 Tour package?

Every package includes a customized combination of Google Business Photos and connected 360 panoramas, image processing, tour assembly, publishing to Google Maps on your Google Business Profile, and electronic delivery of the finished business photographs.

  • How does the combined photo and panorama count work?

Each package has a combined total number of Google Business photos plus 360 panoramas. We plan the mix around the size and layout of your location, the areas customers need to explore and the photographs you need for Google and other marketing.

  • How should I prepare my business for photography?

The space should be clean, staged and free of temporary clutter. Exterior signage, entrances, reception areas and customer-facing rooms should be ready before the scheduled time. We will also discuss whether employees or customers should appear and when the location will look its best.

  • How long does a Google 360 virtual tour take to shoot?

Most business locations are completed in one to three hours depending on the size of the space. Larger facilities such as hotels, medical campuses, or multi-room commercial spaces may require a half-day shoot. We schedule at a time that minimizes disruption to your operations.

  • How long before my tour appears on Google?

Tours are typically published to Google Maps on your Google Business Profile within five to seven business days of the shoot. The pano images will appear first, and the connecting arrows will take an additional 24-48 hours to appear.

  • Do I need a Google Business Profile to get a virtual tour?

Yes. Your business must have a verified Google Business Profile before a tour can be published. If you haven't claimed or verified your profile, we can walk you through the process before your shoot is scheduled.

  • Is there an annual fee to keep my tour on Google?

No. Once published, your tour lives on Google's servers permanently at no ongoing cost. You pay once for the shoot and production, there are no subscriptions or hosting fees.

  • Will my virtual tour work on mobile devices?

Yes. Google 360 virtual tours are fully functional on desktop, tablet, and mobile. Users can explore your space directly within Google Maps or Google Search without downloading anything.

  • What happens to my tour if I move or renovate?

The tour remains on Google at the original listing. If you move to a new location, a new tour is required. If you renovate, we can reshoot and replace the existing tour, typically at a reduced rate depending on the scope of the update.

  • Can I embed the tour on my own website?

Yes. You can embed your Google 360 tour on your website by getting the embed code from your Business Profile in Google Maps.

  • How is a Google virtual tour different from a Matterport scan?

Google virtual tours are published directly to Google Maps and Google Business Profile, making them visible to anyone searching for your business on Google. Matterport produces a detailed 3D scan hosted on Matterport's platform at an ongoing subscription cost. The two serve different purposes: Google tours prioritize local search visibility, while Matterport is better suited to detailed spatial documentation such as real estate listings or architectural walkthroughs.
