Professional Headshots Houston

Polished, Approachable and Consistent Headshots for Individuals and Company Teams

Professional headshots are available for individuals in my Houston studio, company teams at your office, and large groups through organized on-location programs. Each session includes expression coaching, image review, and refined retouching for polished, natural results.

If you are booking for yourself, I will guide you through wardrobe, expression, positioning, and image selection so you leave with a headshot that feels confident, approachable, and like you on your best day. If you are organizing headshots for a team, I also manage the scheduling, employee preparation, image consistency, file naming, and delivery so the project does not become another administrative burden for you.

Studio Headshots for Individuals

Consistent, Modern, and Painless Business Headshots

Whether you are a professional looking for a LinkedIn profile update or an Office Manager looking to schedule a studio session for one or two of your team members, this is where to start. If you have several people to schedule, jump to the Corporate Headshot section or request a quote to begin the process for your entire team.

You should not have to settle for a โ€œjust OKโ€ headshot. With Dee Zunker Photography, you do not have to. I guide you through wardrobe, expression, positioning, and image selection so your final photographs look confident, approachable, and like you on your best day.

Why This Headshot Experience is Different

Tethered Shooting

I shoot tethered to a computer so you see every image as it is taken. We review together, adjust in real time, and do not move on until the shot is working. We select your images and discuss retouching during the session, so you know exactly what you are getting before you leave.

Expression Coaching

Expression coaching is part of every session. Before we start, we talk through where the photos will be used and what you want them to communicate. I guide you throughout with positioning, micro-expressions, and the small adjustments that separate a confident portrait from a stiff one. Most clients tell me they felt far more comfortable in front of the camera than they expected.

Specialized Training & Experience

I am an Associate and Mentor with Peter Hurleyโ€™s Headshot Crew which is an internationally recognized headshot community known for expression-focused portrait work.

I have been creating headshots professionally in Houston since 2011.

Satisfaction Guaranteed

You do not leave the studio until you are happy with your images.

Where Professionals Use Their Headshots

Most clients book a session for one specific need and leave with images they can use across several professional platforms.

Professional corporate headshot of a female architect, smiling, wearing glasses and navy blazer, studio portrait with gray background, Houston TX.

LinkedIn Profile Pictures

These are the most-viewed professional images you will have. A current, well-lit headshot with a natural expression increases profile views and creates a stronger first impression before a meeting, interview, or speaking engagement.

Research continues to show that profile photos influence first impressions, perceived professionalism, and recruiter engagement on platforms like LinkedIn.

Executive Portraits

Board biographies, annual reports, press releases, and media profiles often call for a more formal headshot or executive portrait with a polished, authoritative feel.

Executives often need more than one look: a formal version for board bios and a more approachable image for LinkedIn, speaking engagements, or conference materials.

Speaker & Author Profiles

Conference organizers, literary agents, podcast producers, and event promoters pull from a small set of photos that need to work across book covers, event websites, press kits, and promotional graphics. A well-planned session can produce a versatile set of images that work across both print and digital media.

Black and white versions are especially popular for speaker and author imagery. Professionally processed black and white conversions are available as an add-on to your session.

Firm Websites & Company Directories

Law firm directories, financial advisory sites, real estate broker pages, and company About sections are often the first image a prospective client sees. A consistent, well-produced portrait represents your practice and your firm’s standards.

Need to match an existing company style? We can do that. Just provide the background and image crop you need to match.

Professional woman smiling confidently in a white blouse against a gray backdrop, studio-lit corporate headshot, Bellaire Houston TX.

Medical & Professional Directories

Physicians, specialists, healthcare providers, and medical professionals often need polished headshots for hospital systems, medical directories, speaking engagements, publication profiles, and advisory boards. These images should feel professional and approachable while still reflecting the level of expertise patients and colleagues expect.

Many healthcare organizations also have specific formatting or crop requirements for provider listings and internal systems. We can tailor the session accordingly.

For physicians building a private practice, we can also create additional images for your website and professional profiles during the same session.

Press Releases & Media

Authors, consultants, and executives who work with the media need high-resolution photographs suitable for press releases, publication profiles, editorial layouts, and speaking materials.

During the consultation, we discuss whether you need a tightly cropped headshot or a broader portrait format for editorial layouts, magazine features, or press materials. From there, we refine wardrobe, backdrop, and expression based on how the images will ultimately be used.

Personal Profiles

Many clients initially come in looking for a LinkedIn or company profile headshot, then realize theyโ€™d also like a more relaxed or personal photo for social profiles or casual professional use. This is often easy to accomplish with a background change, slight wardrobe variation, or a different expression during the same session.

How a Studio Session Works

Book Your Session

Schedule online and receive a preparation guide covering wardrobe, grooming, and what to bring. Rescheduling is available with 48 hours notice. If you have a corporate style you need me to match, let me know in the booking form.

Consultation

After you book, Iโ€™ll give you a call to discuss your goals, preferred background options, and any specific poses or setups you have in mind.

You should plan to bring two to three outfit options to the session, more for the Signature session. We will go through them together at the start of the session discussing colors, style, and what reads best on camera for the look you need. Most clients bring more options than they end up using, which is the right approach.

The Session

I shoot tethered to a computer during the session, allowing us to review the images as we go and make adjustments to expression, posture, lighting, and backdrop choices in real time.

The goal is a headshot that looks like you at your best.

Image selection

Together, we review the images and narrow them down to your final selections before you leave. I help guide the selection process based on expression, posture, crop, and how the images will ultimately be used professionally. Reviewing everything together in studio allows us to make small refinements before the session ends if needed.

Once finalized, we discuss retouching direction. My approach is to keep the look natural and not overdone.

Delivery

Retouched images are delivered within 5 business days through a private download gallery. Rush delivery options are available if needed.

Options for Your Individual Session

Makeup Artist

I have an awesome makeup artist. With her experience in film productions, she understands the best way to apply makeup that complements people under the lights. She also can do some light hair styling. She is available for in studio or on location sessions. The makeup artist option is available for the longer Signature Session that includes 3 images.

Black & White Conversions

Black and white images are a popular design option for websites and marketing materials. Simply desaturating the image during the graphic design phase may not get you the best results. Consequently, I provide the option for black and white conversion of your images during the editing phase which allows me to fine-tune the image contrast and color balance to make sure every skin tone pops well in the black and white version. You will still receive the color versions along with the black and white.

Passport Photos

I can add a passport photo to your session for a small fee. If you are looking for just a passport photo, you can schedule that directly with the West Loop Rental Studio.

Bring a Friend

You can add a person to your session for an additional $100 session fee plus $125 for additional images. This will add 30 minutes to your session.

Background Options

I have a wide range of background colors to choose from. My favorite is a medium gray, but a color can help your LinkedIn profile pop. Read more about background options here. I can also add a background replacement of an office area or an outdoor scene.

On-Location branding Sessions

On-location sessions are available at your office or preferred location. The session can be at a single location or a number of locations to build a photo library for your needs. They are priced based on your deliverables and location options. You can see examples and more information under lifestyle branding photography

What is a professional headshot and why do I need one?

A professional headshot is a polished portrait created to represent you accurately and professionally. It is commonly used for LinkedIn, company websites, speaker bios, board directories, and media kits, and it is often the first impression someone has of you before a meeting or conversation.
Read more about what qualifies as a professional headshot and how it differs from a portrait.

What is expression coaching?

Expression coaching is not posing. Before we start, we talk through your goals for the session and what you want the images to communicate. I guide you throughout: posture, expression, the small adjustments that make a difference on camera. Because I shoot tethered to a monitor, we review images together in real time and adjust as we go. The result is a portrait that looks like you at your best: natural and confident, not stiff. Most clients tell me they were more relaxed in front of the camera than they expected.

How long does a headshot session take?

The EXPRESS session runs 30 minutes: one look, in and out efficiently. The SIGNATURE session runs 90 minutes with time for two to three outfit changes and a range of looks. Sessions are never rushed. If your schedule is tight, the EXPRESS session is designed to get you a polished result quickly without sacrificing quality.

What’s included in a headshot session?

All sessions include a pre-session consultation, professional 3-point studio lighting, expression and posture coaching throughout, tethered shooting with live image review on a monitor, image selection during the session, and expert retouching. The EXPRESS session delivers one fully edited image; the SIGNATURE session delivers three. Additional retouched images are available for purchase with either option. Hair and makeup is available as an add-on for the SIGNATURE session.

What should I wear to my headshot session?

Solid colors work best for both men and women. Bring two to three options that fit your industry and how you want to be perceived. Avoid busy patterns, large logos, and colors that closely match the backdrop or your skin tone. You will receive wardrobe guidance after booking.

How much do professional headshot sessions cost?

The EXPRESS session is $325 for a 30-minute session with one fully edited image. The SIGNATURE session is $625 for a 90-minute session with three fully edited images. Additional images are available for purchase with either option.

How many photos are included?

As many images as you want. The EXPRESS session starts with one retouched image, and the SIGNATURE session includes three, but you can add images to both sessions to meet your needs.

How soon will I receive my photos?

Retouched images are delivered within 5 business days of your session via a private download gallery. Rush delivery is available as an option.

Do you offer hair and makeup services?

Yes, a professional hair and makeup artist is available as an add-on for the SIGNATURE session.

Where is your Houston studio located?

The studio is located at 5750A Royalton Street in Houston, southwest of the Highway 59 and West Loop intersection, with front-door parking. It is accessible from downtown Houston, the Medical Center, the Galleria, the Energy Corridor, and surrounding business districts.

Do you shoot on location?

Yes. On-location is available for individuals and small groups. Most clients booking individual sessions choose the studio for the lighting, backdrop options, and flexibility. On-location tends to be a better fit for corporate groups.

What backgrounds are available?

The studio has multiple backdrop options from white through dark gray, plus color options. Most clients start with a neutral backdrop that keeps the focus on the portrait. You can see some examples in this post about headshot backgrounds.

What’s the difference between executive headshots and professional headshots?

The terms describe the same general type of portrait. Executive headshots typically involve a broader range of uses: board bios, press releases, LinkedIn, speaking engagements, and conference materials. The additional time built into the SIGNATURE session allows for multiple looks and a wider range of expressions and crops.

What is the difference between headshots and branding photography?

Headshots focus on professional portraits centered on expression, approachability, and professionalism. Branding photography is a broader type of session that may include environmental portraits, workplace imagery, and marketing-focused content for websites and social media.

How do I prepare for my headshot session?

You will receive a preparation guide after booking. Short version: get good sleep, bring multiple outfit options, and come with a sense of where you will be using the photos. Having your LinkedIn profile or firm website pulled up is useful context for the wardrobe conversation at the start of the session.

How often should I update my professional headshots?

Most professionals should update their headshots every two to three years, or sooner after a significant change in appearance, a career move, or a new platform requiring updated imagery. Executives and speakers featured regularly in press or conference materials often update more frequently.

Should I use AI-generated headshots instead of professional photography?

AI headshots often carry subtle artifacts โ€” unnatural eyes, overly smooth skin, expressions that don’t quite land โ€” and viewers tend to sense something is off even when they can’t say what. In Houston’s competitive business environment, a professionally photographed headshot signals credibility and attention to detail in a way AI images can’t yet match. Read more about where AI headshots fall short.

What industries do you serve in Houston?

Legal, financial services, real estate, healthcare, technology, consulting, and professional services broadly. If you are a Houston professional who needs a polished portrait for any professional platform, this studio is designed for that work.

Can I just take my headshot with my cell phone?

Well, yes in an emergency, but a professional headshot photographer helps with the lighting and coaching to get the final image you need. You can read more about using your cell phone for headshots.

Corporate Headshots for Houston Teams & Businesses

Consistent, Modern, and Painless Business Headshots

Corporate headshots for Houston companies, from small team and staff headshots to organization-wide sessions. Each person receives individual expression coaching and reviews their images on-screen before the session ends so no one leaves with a photo they did not approve. Beyond the photography, I manage scheduling, file delivery, naming, and retouching coordination, so your team gets consistent, polished headshots without adding a project to your plate.

What Makes These Sessions Different

Most flat, forgettable headshots fail on three fronts: the subject looks uncomfortable, the lighting kills the eyes, and the retouching looks overdone or artificial. Our sessions address all three areas:

  • Expression coaching to get confident, engaging expressions from every person
  • Modern 3-point lighting fills the eyes with light so they look alive and sharp
  • Authentic retouching so your people look their best, not like they were cranked out of an AI generator

The result is company headshots that look sharp, natural, and confident.

An Organized Headshot Process for Your Team

Coordinating company headshots involves more than choosing a photographer. Employees need instructions, schedules need to stay organized, images need to be approved, and the final files must be easy for your team to use.

I manage those details so the process stays straightforward for your employees and for the person coordinating the project.

Before the session

  • Planning call to confirm the visual style, background, crop, and intended uses
  • A custom scheduling page for employees to select their own time slots
  • Preparation and wardrobe guidance customized to your company
  • Space, access, setup, and timeline planning

During the session

  • Individual expression coaching for every employee
  • Live image review and selection before each person leaves
  • Consistent lighting, positioning, crop, and background
  • Efficient sessions designed to keep the workday moving

After the session

  • Natural retouching and consistent finishing
  • Files named by employee for easy management
  • Web and print-ready crops for LinkedIn, company websites, directories, and marketing
  • Individual delivery to employees and an organized company gallery for the coordinator

Planning Your Company Headshots

Before the session, we confirm how the photographs will be used and establish the visual standards for the project. That includes the location, background, crop, lighting style, number of images, and whether the new photographs need to match an existing company directory.

Matching Your Style

While I believe I offer the most compelling style for staff headshots, you may prefer to match the style of your existing team headshots. This is definitely something I can do. I can analyze the lighting setup from your existing headshots, and match that style for your new headshots. The expression coaching I provide will still get you great results while matching your style.

Background Options

I find the most appealing background to be the medium gray like the images at top of this page; however, a different shade of gray, a white background, a brand color background, or even an environmental background are all viable options for your headshots. We can determine that detail in the planning call. Be sure to chat with your graphics design team about what works well for your annual report, web design, or marketing campaign. While backgrounds are much easier to change electronically these days, headshots shot on the correct background to begin with will always look better.

What About The Crop

For headshots, I typically shoot chest up, and I provide 3 crops: a loose 5×4 crop, a LinkedIn square crop, and the tighter 5×4 crop like the ones in the first and second set of images above. Some of my clients prefer more of a portrait of a 1/2 to a 3/4 body shot to allow for specific speaking bios, or press releases. We will finalize what you need during the planning phase. It is usually better to have a specified crop for your needs, so I can use my specialized tools to make sure the crops are consistent for your team, and you will not need to do the cropping later and risk variability in the images. Full crops are provided for environmental portraits without the LinkedIn or the tight crops.

Photo Day Timeline

  • Setup: 45 minutes
  • Sessions: 5-10 minutes per person, so a team of 20 takes ~3 hours assuming a single lighting setup
  • Breakdown: 30 minutes

Add-ons to your team session

Makeup Artist

Black & White Conversions

Lifestyle & At-Work Photography

Environmental and lifestyle portraits can be added to an on-site session. These are the images companies use on About pages, in press materials, and in recruiting such as people at their desks, in meetings, working in the warehouse or storefront rather than posed against a backdrop. This type of office and workplace photography pairs well with headshots since the team is already together. Adding a lifestyle component like business branding and marketing photography at the same visit avoids a second setup fee and a second visit for your team.

Group & Team Photos

A group or team photo can be added to any on-site session. Two approaches are available depending on your needs which include a traditional or a composite group shot.

Traditional Group Shot
A traditional group shot works well for smaller teams when everyone is present on the same day.

Composite Group Shot
For larger teams, mixed availability, or photos that may need to be updated over time, composite team photos are a great option. Each person is photographed separately and combined into a single image. Composites are easier to update when team members change without reshooting the entire group.

Keeping Your Team Consistent With Follow-Ups & New Hires

Follow-Up Sessions
Anyone who misses the on-site session can come to my studio within two weeks at the same group rate. They will be able to schedule online via my corporate scheduling page.

New Hire Sessions
New hires can book individual studio sessions at the new hire rate throughout the year to keep your company directory and website current without waiting for the next full team session. The studio is near the intersection of the Southwest Freeway and the West Loop which is convenient to most Houston offices. I have parking right in front of the studio, along with dressing and makeup areas so you can change at the studio if necessary.

Corporate Headshot FAQ

Can you match our existing headshots and photograph future new hires?

Yes. I can match an established lighting style, background, crop, and retouching approach for new employees or future sessions. I document the setup and image standards so your company directory remains consistent as the team changes. New hires can be photographed at my Houston studio or during a future on-site session.

Will you come to our office for a corporate headshot session?

Yes. On-site sessions are available at offices and corporate facilities throughout Houston and the surrounding area. I bring professional lighting equipment and background options to your location. The optimal setup space is roughly 15 by 15 feet, but smaller spaces work. Access to power is needed, and wi-fi is helpful.

How many people can you photograph in an hour?

Most corporate headshot sessions are scheduled for 6 to 10 people per hour which includes a single outfit, expression coaching, and image selection.
Additional images, outfit changes, background options, or multiple set locations each affect how much time is required.
I typically allow 5 to 10 minutes per person for a consistent headshot with live image selection. Setup and breakdown time are planned separately based on the location and lighting requirements.

Can you handle headshots across multiple office locations?

Yes. For companies with offices in multiple cities, I can travel for larger projects or coordinate with a nationwide network of headshot specialists. I provide clear standards for lighting, background, crop, retouching, and expression coaching so the final images remain consistent across locations.
I manage the overall project and serve as your primary contact, so you do not have to coordinate separately with photographers in each city.

How should employees prepare for headshot day?

Solid colors with sleeves photograph best for corporate headshots. Clothing should reflect how each employee normally presents themselves at work and how the company wants to be represented. Once the session is scheduled, I provide a preparation page with wardrobe guidance and details about what to expect on headshot day.
Employees should arrive camera-ready, avoid heavy makeup, and get adequate rest and hydration beforehand. Each session typically takes 5 to 10 minutes and includes expression coaching and live image review. Minor blemishes and glare are handled during retouching.
The full employee preparation guide is available to share with your team ahead of time.

Can corporate headshots be used for LinkedIn and company websites?

Yes. Corporate licensing covers use by both the company and the individual employee across LinkedIn, the company website, internal directories, and marketing materials. Every session includes files optimized for web with the standard headshot crop along with a square crop that is ideal for LinkedIn.
