Who We Serve with Drone Photography & Video
Architects & Design Firms
Architects and Design Firms hire me to document their completed projects for use on their websites, in proposal materials, competition submissions, and publications. Drone imagery is often added to an architectural photography session to provide aerial perspectives of the finished project, and aerial video is increasingly requested for project portfolio pages.
Builders & Contractors
Builders and Contractors hire me for construction progress imagery, marketing materials, and project completion photography, often with multiple parties interested in licensing the final images. Progress imagery is usually drone alone or drone combined with ground images, captured on a regular schedule over the life of the project. Drone services are available as a stand-alone assignment or as an add-on to ground and interior photography.
Commercial Real Estate Developers
Commercial Real Estate Developers hire me to showcase properties for websites and listings. These are usually exterior shoots, with interiors occasionally included for a particular property.
Property Managers & Owners
Property Managers and hotel and apartment owners hire me for marketing materials and website images to support leasing. Aerial imagery works alongside interiors, twilight images, and 360 tours to show prospective renters and travelers the full picture of a property’s amenities and setting.
Corporate & Marketing Teams
Corporate and Marketing Teams hire me to document corporate campuses, industrial facilities, warehouses, and corporate events for use in marketing campaigns and internal and external communication materials.
Small Businesses & Retail Locations
Restaurants, retail stores, fitness centers, medical practices, law firms, and other local businesses hire me for photography and video that showcases their physical location for websites, social media, Google Business Profiles, and marketing materials.
Coverage Options and Add-Ons
Drone photography and video can be scheduled as a stand-alone assignment, added to a larger photography session, or set up on a recurring basis for ongoing documentation. Combining aerial and ground coverage in a single visit is the most efficient way to capture a project, and many clients add drone to an existing architectural, construction, or commercial photography booking.
Recurring Construction Progress Documentation
Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or milestone-based drone photography and video provide a consistent visual record throughout the life of a construction project. Project assets are organized in online storage accessible to your team, making it easy to track progress and share imagery with stakeholders as the project moves forward.
Photography, Video, or Both
Projects can include still photography, aerial video, or a combination of both, depending on how the imagery will be used. Stills work well for portfolios, proposals, and print materials, while video suits social media, project updates, and marketing campaigns. Capturing both in the same session keeps the visual style consistent across everything produced from the shoot.
Multi-Site Projects & Travel
Regional and national assignments covering multiple properties, developments, facilities, or construction sites are available. Using a single photographer for every location keeps the imagery consistent in quality and style across the entire project, which matters when the images will appear together in a portfolio, proposal, or marketing campaign.
Why Work With Dee Zunker Photography
FAA Part 107 Certified Since 2016
Drone photography has been part of Dee Zunker Photography’s commercial services since 2016, well before most photographers added aerial work to their offerings. A decade of operating under FAA Part 107 means a long track record of regulatory compliance, safe operations, and project experience across architecture, construction, and commercial work.
Experience with Commercial Projects
From architectural photography and construction documentation to commercial real estate, hospitality properties, and corporate facilities, aerial photography is integrated into a broader commercial photography practice serving businesses throughout Houston and Texas.
Engineering & Industrial Background
A technical background and experience working in industrial environments provide familiarity with project planning, documentation requirements, site logistics, and safety culture. This experience is particularly valuable when working on active construction projects, industrial facilities, and complex commercial properties.
Planning for Complex Locations
Some projects require additional planning due to controlled airspace, active job sites, corporate campuses, or operational restrictions. Experience coordinating these requirements helps projects move efficiently while maintaining compliance with FAA regulations and site-specific requirements.
Photographer First, Drone Pilot Second
A drone is simply another camera. The same attention to composition, lighting, perspective, and storytelling used in architectural, commercial, and construction photography is applied to every aerial assignment. The goal is not simply to capture footage from above, but to create imagery that supports marketing, documentation, and communication objectives.

Are you FAA Part 107 certified?
Yes. Dee Zunker Photography has operated under FAA Part 107 since 2016 and maintains all required certifications for commercial drone operations. Part 107 certification means the pilot has passed an FAA aeronautical knowledge test covering airspace classifications, weather, emergency procedures, and flight regulations. For clients, it means your project is handled by a pilot who is legally authorized to fly commercially and understands how to operate within the national airspace system. For more on why this matters when hiring a drone pilot, see Why Hire an FAA Certified Drone Pilot.
How much does convention photography cost in Houston?
Conference photography coverage in Houston starts at $600 for 2 hours, with half-day, full-day, and multi-day coverage available. Pricing varies based on event size, venue logistics, turnaround requirements, and add-ons such as same-day delivery or multi-photographer coverage.
Are you insured for commercial drone operations?
Yes. All drone photography and video assignments are fully insured. Proof of insurance is available when required by property owners, construction sites, venues, or corporate clients with compliance requirements. FAA Part 107 certification is a prerequisite for drone liability insurance. Without a valid certificate, insurance companies will not issue coverage for commercial drone operations. An unlicensed pilot flying your project carries zero liability coverage regardless of what they tell you.
Can you fly near airports or in restricted airspace?
Many commercial projects are located within controlled airspace. Houston has multiple controlled airspace environments surrounding Bush Intercontinental, Hobby Airport, Ellington Field, and the Texas Medical Center helicopter corridors. Flight authorizations are obtained through the LAANC system or a formal waiver depending on the location and altitude. Every project location is checked against current FAA airspace maps and any active temporary flight restrictions before confirming a shoot date.
What happens if drone operations are restricted at a specific location?
Some locations have airspace restrictions, operational limitations, or site-specific requirements that affect what is possible. These are reviewed during project planning to determine available options and obtain any necessary authorizations before the shoot is scheduled.
Do drone operations require permits?
It depends on the location. Flights over private property generally do not require a permit beyond FAA authorization. Some municipalities, parks, and private facilities have their own requirements. Specific requirements for each project location are researched in advance, and any necessary approvals are coordinated as part of the scheduling process.
What happens if the weather is bad on shoot day?
Drone operations require acceptable wind, visibility, and cloud ceiling conditions to produce quality imagery. If conditions on the scheduled day are not suitable, we reschedule at no additional charge for local operations. For travel locations, weather contingencies will be discussed in advance such as extra travel days or reduction of scope for the project. Houston weather can change quickly, so forecasts are monitored in the days leading up to the shoot, with early communication if a weather hold looks likely.
Can you fly at night or during twilight?
Twilight flights are available and produce some of the most compelling imagery for architectural and commercial real estate projects. Night operations are possible when project requirements, location, airspace, and safety considerations allow. Requirements are reviewed during project planning, and true night operations require an FAA waiver, which adds lead time to the scheduling process.
How do you handle low lighting or difficult venues?
Conference venues often include mixed lighting, dark ballrooms, projection screens, and fast-changing stage conditions. Coverage is adapted throughout the event using lighting setups designed to work efficiently without disrupting speakers or attendees.
Do I need to be on site during the drone shoot?
It is not required, but having a site contact available is helpful for access coordination, especially on active construction sites or secure facilities. For construction progress documentation, many clients prefer to be off site entirely. A proofing gallery is provided after the shoot so coverage can be reviewed before final selections are made.
How often can construction progress photography be scheduled?
Construction progress photography can be scheduled as a one-time assignment or on a recurring basis. Common schedules include weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or milestone-based documentation throughout the life of a project.
Do you travel outside Houston?
Yes. Drone photography and video assignments are available throughout Texas and beyond. Multi-site projects can be coordinated to provide consistent imagery across multiple locations, developments, or construction sites. Travel costs are discussed during the quoting process.
Do you provide both photography and video?
Yes. Projects can include aerial photography, aerial video, or a combination of both depending on how the final imagery will be used. Stills and footage captured in the same session maintain visual consistency, which is useful when imagery appears together on a website, in a proposal, or in a marketing campaign.
Can drone photography be combined with architectural or ground photography?
Yes. Drone imagery is frequently incorporated into architectural photography assignments to provide site context, project scale, and perspectives that cannot be captured from the ground. Combining aerial and ground coverage in a single visit is more efficient and ensures lighting and conditions are consistent across all the imagery.
How does licensing work when multiple parties need images?
This comes up regularly on construction and development projects where the architect, general contractor, and developer all want to use the same imagery. Each additional party requiring a license is priced at 25% above the base licensing fee. This is discussed and documented before the shoot so there are no surprises at delivery.
How much do drone photography and video cost?
Drone services are priced based on the scope of the project. Standalone assignments start at $600, and typically include capture, FAA authorization research, proofing, and final editing. When drone is added to a ground photography session it is available as an add-on. Recurring construction progress packages are priced separately based on frequency and project duration. Request a quote with your project location and a brief description of what you need covered, and you will hear back within 24 hours.
How long does a typical drone photography assignment take?
Most projects can be completed in a few hours, although larger properties, construction sites, multi-location assignments, and video productions may require additional time. Assignment duration is discussed during the quoting process based on your specific scope.
How quickly will I receive my images?
Proofs are typically available within two business days. Final edited images are generally delivered within five to seven business days after selections are made. Rush delivery is available for time-sensitive projects.
Do you offer drone mapping, surveying, or inspection services?
No. Mapping, surveying, and inspection are specialized services that require different equipment, software, and in some cases additional certifications beyond Part 107. Drone mapping for land surveys uses photogrammetry software to generate measurements and 3D models. Structural inspection work often requires thermal imaging sensors. These are engineering and data collection services, not photography. Drone work here focuses on photography and video for marketing, documentation, portfolio, and publication use. If mapping or inspection services are needed, a licensed surveyor or a drone inspection company with the appropriate equipment would be the right fit.
What information should I include when requesting a quote?
Providing the project address, intended use of the imagery, desired deliverables, and preferred schedule helps determine any airspace requirements and allows for an accurate quote quickly.
